Summary

Your document content never leaves your machine. Checked Law stores the audit trail inside your .docx file. We do not receive, store, or process the text of your legal documents.

What we collect

• Email address (for license activation and support)
• License and subscription status (via Stripe and our license database)
• Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

License verification

When you activate the add-in, we verify your license key and email address. This sends your email and license key to our API at checkedlaw.com. We use short-lived activation codes to confirm you control the email address.

Where data is stored

• License data: Supabase (EU region)
• Payments: Stripe
• Website and API hosting: Vercel (EU region where available)

Processors

We use Stripe (payments), Supabase (license database), Vercel (hosting), and Resend (transactional email).

Your rights (GDPR)

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your account data by emailing support@checkedlaw.com. Audit trail data inside your documents is controlled by you — it is not stored on our servers.
